The Winter Evergreen Exhibition took place on December 20th and 21st, 2024 from 5pm to 10pm both evenings to showcase the work of 20 local artists in a silent auction art show and concert at Our Lady of Perpetual Motion, 503 E Aspen Ave. Fruita, CO.
The event brought together 20 local artists for a celebration of visual art and live music. The event featured a silent auction of 38 original works displayed throughout the historic venue. Friday night included classical performances, catered artisan boards by Nibbles and Sips, beverages and fresh baked cookies, and presentations by artists and organizers, drawing the largest crowd of the weekend. Saturday offered a more casual atmosphere with performances by local bands Stray Grass, Super Fox, and The Violet Pines, a food truck, and a cash bar by Copper Club Brewing Company.
In addition to ticket sales, the event raised funds through sponsorships, artist fees, grants, and donations. Artists kept 100% of their sales, which totaled $2,651.99 from seven artworks sold, with several more sales catalyzed by the event after the fact. Additionally, 10% of ticket proceeds were donated to the D51 Art Heritage non-profit.
The event succeeded in building excitement and community support, and the Winter Evergreen Exhibition was a vibrant and promising debut for what could become a cherished annual event.
